Born in La Vega, Dominican Republic, Alexandra immigrated to the United States at the age of ten. Alexandra has always had a strong passion for improving the lives of women, young people, and her community. Alexandra has established herself as a committed community activist and experienced advocate for civic participation through her work for the City of Boston.
Alexandra works for Mayor Michelle Wu as the Director of Cultural Affairs for the Equity and Inclusion Cabinet. Before this role, Alexandra served as the Director of the Mayor's Office of Women’s Advancement, where she led her team to advance gender equity by empowering women and those who identify as such by removing systematic barriers. Alexandra served as the Latina Liaison and the neighborhood coordinator for Jamaica Plain. Additionally,
Alexandra began her journey in higher education at Mass Bay College and continued to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Fitchburg State University. During this time, her involvement included Student Government, Chair/President of her class (2015), and Student Alumni Liaison, among others. In 2021, Alexandra obtained her master's degree from Suffolk University in Public administration.
Alexandra is the youngest elected president of FUNDOARCU, an organization she calls home. She began her journey at the age of 17, where she led work in advancing youth and creating programs to uplift Dominican Culture in the City of Boston.
For Alexandra, being Dominican means strength, power, and, most of all, courage. Her Dominican roots remind her never to forget where she came from but, most of all, to always give back to the community. Her family is her everyday strength and allows her to work hard every day to help others.
